Founded in 1958 by the late Charlie Kornman, Sunrise Homes is a diversified land acquisition, development and construction company specializing in value oriented single and multi-family communities. Combined with affiliates in commercial construction, property management and mortgage investment, the Sunrise family of companies is one of the largest and most integrated real estate development firms in Southeast Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

When he launched his company from a small town just south of New Orleans, Charlie Kornman had few resources but big dreams. He knew that by offering customers superior quality and value through economies of scale and highly efficient design, purchasing, scheduling and construction management techniques he could build something special.

From those modest beginnings Sunrise Homes has grown, developing and building more than 1,100 multi-family units, 25,000 square feet of office space, 200,000 square feet of retail shopping space and homes for over 8,000 families in more than 30 residential communities. Still a closely held family company after more than fifty years in business, Sunrise continues to focus on delivering the highest quality home in the most desirable neighborhoods at an unparalleled value - a strategy that has allowed the company to endure and prosper where others have faltered.

Over the years this objective has become an integral part of the company's culture and to this day, Charlie Kornman's original decree to "... always provide the best possible housing value" is what drives the people at Sunrise Homes.
